Here goes....

Having just returned from a trip to Dubai, where I spent an unhealthy amount of time reading Laura's "Buy Now, Blog Later"  blog whilst sat in the sun, I have been totally inspired to start writing a blog of my own (I also have a shopping list as long as my arm now, thanks Laura!)  Since I have no 'real' hobby so to speak (hangs head in shame!) and spend most of my spare time scouring the internet or traipsing around shopping malls for my next 'must-have' item of clothing or make up and trying new products I felt that I may be of some use by sharing my findings with you!  I also enjoy eating out and reading a good book so there may be the odd lifestyle recommendation thrown in for good measure too in the future!

So here we go....

Starting with some little make up purchases I made whilst in Dubai (and passing some time in the airport at Heathrow!)

First up is a Tom Ford lipstick in the colour 'Spanish Pink'.  Wow.  This is my perfect everyday lip colour, a nude with a bit 'more' to it.  Hard to describe (and even harder to photograph, I have tried at the bottom but it doesn't really do the lipstick any justice!) Those of you often wondering what all the fuss is about with Tom Ford Lipsticks (I was one of those people!) then you need to save up and purchase one, pronto! you will not be disappointed! This was a recommendation from Laura www.buynowbloglater.com.

Next up was a purchase at Bloomingdales at the Dubai Mall, now I'm getting a little ahead of myself here because although it was blissfully sunny in Dubai I have returned to what only can be described as what feels like 'The End of the World" weather back home in the UK!  So this little number won't be making another outing until the sun starts shining a little bit in the UK and Spring has sprung! It is yet another recommendation from Laura, but I have to say is THE perfect Tiffany blue.  An Australian brand and not available yet in the UK unfortunately but as soon as it is, I'll be sure to let you know! It's called Tiffany by 'piCture pOlish'.

Last up is a palette that I've had on my wish list for about a month now.  Do I need another neutral palette? No. Is this any different to the ones I already have? Yes and No.  Did this warrant me purchasing it? Yes, definitely! It's sleek, compact and has a great selection of shades in it, perfect for a wearable day look and can be built up for a heavier evening / smokey eye affair.  The quality of the eyeshadows are fantastic and they're not too 'shimmery'.  It's not as cumbersome as the Urban Decay Naked palettes and makes it a great size to travel with.  I can see me getting a lot of use out of this and of course, this totally justifies my purchase! :)

In addition to this, I also grabbed some Jo Malone perfume in Peony and Blush Suede which I can't decide whether I like or not at the moment.  It smells lovely when you first spray it, but I'm not so sure after I've been wearing it for a while.  I'll report back after I've worn it a few more times!

I'm very sad to have left Dubai, such a fantastic place and I can't help but think I'd like to live there one day.

I'll leave you with a pic (please excuse the tired, jet lagged eyes!!) of me wearing a selection of shades from the eye palette and my new favourite lipstick! and links below of where to buy products.
