A Very Good Friday

Excuse the shockingly bad pun in the title, I couldn't resist!! :)

Now strictly speaking I'm cheatin' you all today because these DOTD (my new made up abbreviation - details of the day FYI!) were actually from yesterday.  Today I am dressed in old shorts and top and up to my neck in paint as we are desperately trying to get our garden Summer ready.  I'll post up a pic when it's finished! In true British Bank Holiday tradition I am DIY'ing like a goodun! :)

I went for a red lip yesterday, something that doesn't happen very often as it scares me but when I do feel in the mood, I love the results!

I'm also really enjoying the new Chanel Perfection Lumiere (see last post for full review!).  It's lasting power is fantastic and withstood me sitting in a sweltering office yesterday with the radiator on full (I feel the cold!)

On the lips I used my new Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner in Pillow Talk (neutral but keeps everything nice and neat on the edges) then followed by a YSL Vernis a Levres in number 9.  I love these lip stains/glosses because they look great and last forever with minimal touch ups and even when they do start to fade, they do so nicely.

On the nails I had Chanel April - how very apt! :)  I now have to buy May....

I shamelessly copied Laura from Buy Now Blog Later with these shoes (she has such great taste and style!) and I am in love with them, they're so comfy and spruce up an otherwise boring outfit! (I had black trousers and a grey jumper, the silver and the reds really made everything look a little more interesting!)  You can still get the shoes on ASOS at the moment here (and they're reduced, I'm good to you lot!)

Hope you're all enjoying your weekends / extended bank holiday weekends :)

  1. Wow Lis! That shade looks amazing on you!
I wish I could pull off bright shades like these... I'm still on the hunt for my perfect red!
I love the YSL lip stains... I need to go swatch this one!
I would love to know what you used on your eyes! It's so pretty!

    1. Thanks Anne :) I'm usually not very daring with bold shades, and 99% of the time I ended up putting them on and taking them off again, but this is quite an interesting colour. Go and have a swatch but make sure you leave for a couple of minutes because it comes out bright and dries a slightly different colour, I think it would suit you with your blue eyes :)
I'm having a revival at the moment of my Naked 1 & 2 Palettes, I never used to really get on with them too well but I'm I'm having another go! I used the Naked 1 for this look and used 'Virgin' in the inner corner and a tiny bit on the brow bone to highlight. Then 'Sin' all over the lid and in the crease I used a mixture of 'Buck' (matte shade) and 'Sidecar' I then smudged 'Dark Horse' right into the lash line using an angled brush. Lashings of mascara (Givenchy in this case - the one I mentioned in one of my previous posts - I can never remember the name!!) and then a little bit of MAC Eyeliner in 'Coffee' in the lower waterline. Bit of an essay....sorry! :)

    2. Ahhh thanks Almu! It is, I'm OBSESSED with this range from Anya Hindmarch - I'm searching high and low at the moment for the hair straightener bag she did (I think it's discontinued though sadly)

I've eaten way too much chocolate! :)

      xx
