The Contents of the Bag and Box Finally Revealed!

I teased you all last week some pictures of a Net a Porter box and a Chanel bag (being mauled by my doggy!)

Well now its time to reveal all (and I do think I've perhaps bigged this up a little too much!! what can I say, I've always been a bit of drama queen! ha!)

So in the Chanel bag we have... (I feel like there should be a drum roll here or something!!)

Please excuse the little teeth marks in the bag on the photo, someone little and furry is also a fan of Chanel it would seem!

I'd not heard any reviews about this foundation as it is brand new out, so this was a completely curious purchase.  It's in the same packaging as the Vitalumiere Aqua and I love the size and ease of use of this little bottle, it's great for travelling.  I actually really like the 'blackness' of this, it looks sleek and sexy - well, as much as a foundation can!!

Now to the nitty gritty, what is it actually like? Well, I bought it on Saturday and have been using it since Sunday.  I wanted to ensure I was able to give it a good review.  The first time I used it I wasn't sure at ALL.  It has an extremely light texture that almost melts into the skin and almost feels slightly powdery. I have to admit on first application I didn't like it,  I was however, having the most horrific skin day (spots aplenty!) so tried it again the following day and things were better.  But not perfect, and with something with 'perfection' written on the bottle - I wanted this!!!

Then yesterday, I made a miraculous discovery.  I read the little leaflet that came inside the box and it recommended that you use your fingers to apply the foundation (I'd be using my Sigma F80 up until this point) So this morning I used my fingers to apply as instructed and created the most perfect finish that got even better as the day went on.  I'd say its like a longer wearing version of the Vitalumiere Aqua.  It feels like a primer has been combined in with the foundation if that makes sense??? The finish is very lightweight and didn't really need touching up at all throughout the day.  Always a bonus!

So in short, I am loving this! A nice little addition to my (growing!) foundation collection!

Next up, the Net a Porter box.  I actually wish there had been something slightly more exciting in this!

I've been after a nice lipliner for a while, one that I can wear with lots of lipstick colours close to my natural lip colour and this is the one.  I'd read a few reviews of this and it had been dubbed the 'best nude lip liner' so I had to get it didn't I?! I've always only used MAC up until now but as usual, Charlotte Tilbury's version of a lip liner is a game changer! The woman can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, everything I've tried in her range has been fantastic so far!

The consistency of this is nice, it lasts a long time and is waterproof.  The MAC ones seem to disappear after a cup of coffee!! I even used this before a red YSL lip stain today and it still worked well and kept any feathering at bay.

Not the most exciting of posts but I'm hoping you'll find the Chanel foundation review useful :) I think it would suit most skin types and its definitely a bit different and worth trying.  I have the colour B30 and this is probably a little dark for me currently but Summer is coming and fake tan will be slapped on my face soon for a better match!

Hope you're having a good week, I now have 5 days off and I plan to make the most of it!

  1. so exciting! What a great haul! I want to give that foundation a try

    1. Hi Allison!

Oh you definitely should, a lot of people are finding it a bit weird but it takes a bit of getting used to and definitely use your fingers to apply it! :) xx

  2. Hi Lis!
I really want to try this foundation! I just used up my Chanel Vitalumière Aqua (holy grail!) so I might give this a go... I'm using the Laura Mercier Mineral Powder (another holy grail) now that it's super hot again. I think I would really like this one, a powdery finish sounds like heaven right now! :-)
    Thanks for sharing!
    Enjoy your days off!

    1. Hi Anne!
Oh you definitely should. It's very different to anything else I've tried but I think would work well in your climate over there. That Laura Mercier Mineral Powder is next on my hitlist when I finally finish up the very average Hourglass Diffused Light Powder I'm using at the moment.

Enjoy that gorgeous Easter Egg! :) xx

    2. Ahhhh thanks!!! We already started demolishing it LOL. My son went bananas when he saw it!
That Laura Mercier Mineral Powder is everything... I've been using it for 2 years. It's fantastic!
      Happy Friday Lis! :-)
