My Warm Weather Make Up Rut FOTD

Finally! Some decent weather here in the UK!

So like a true Brit, I have fully embraced this by barbecuing outside, sunbathing in the garden, reading in the garden, using my MacBook in the garden, making my own cocktails (to drink in the garden) in fact pretty much anything garden related.  Hell, I even donned a bikini this weekend and got a bit of a tan (ok, most of the tan was actually from a bottle and I put it on Thursday evening but shhh, don't tell anyone!)

I also switched up my make up for the warm weather and have been enjoying this little combination over the past few days.  It feels light on the face, wears well and has that whole bronze goddess thing going on....I wish!

Now although this doesn't look like much, I've actually used a lot of products here (what's new?!)

Base - I applied the Chantecaille Just Skin in Glow all over the face using a Sigma F80 brush.  This tinted moisturiser doesn't look great when first applied but be patient, it does change on the skin as it 'sets' and looks a lot neater.  Next I covered my dark circles / bags / wrinkles with the Diorskin Nude  Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer  and a Real Techniques Setting brush (side note - love these, own three and use them for all sorts of different situations!).  I then used the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer - hate the name of this and at the moment can't decide if I actually like it or not.  I use the lightest shade to cover up and spots and then set it with the little powder using the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage brush.   Then I went in with the Louise Young huge fan brush to set everything in place with a light dusting of the Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent powder.

Now to make this base look like there's a bit of life in it! Firstly, I applied the Tom Ford Bronzer in Gold Dust  with the Real Techniques Powder Brush and put it everywhere pretty much! I really like this bronzer and I didn't think I would because of the glitter in it, looks gorgeous on the skin though.  Amping up the shimmer some more (Summer requires shimmer - it's an unwritten beauty law don't you know!) I used the Dior Amber Diamond highlighter, I don't think they do this any more but any good highlighter will do to be honest.  I applied this to the tops of my cheek bones, cupids bow, nose - you know, the usual drill! And then used a Laura Mercier Blush Brush to apply the Tarte Tipsy Blush to the apples (who made up that stupid comparison?!) of the cheeks.

Apologies for sheer mess of the above items...they're well loved and consequently a bit on the grubby side - it's no wonder I end up getting mucky little marks on anything white I wear before I even leave the house! who else does this too?!

So I apply the Nars Eye Primer first to the eyelid, I forgot to do this the other day and really noticed the difference and it made me realise how much I love this stuff.  I then applied MAC nylon to the inner corner of the eye using a Laura Mercier crease brush and then using a MAC 217 put  MAC Texture all over the lid and right into the crease and blended this out.  I then applied with a different 217 brush some MAC All that glitters onto the middle of the lid followed by a tiny bit more MAC Nylon.  I then applied a little bit of MAC Texture underneath the lower lashes with a Louise Young smudger brush.   I actually forgot to take a picture of it but right now I also added some Rimmel Scandaleyes to the lower water line right now.   A slick of YSL BabyDoll mascara to the top lashes and some Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara to the bottom and that's the eyes done.

For Brows I used MAC Omega with a MAC angled brush (that I can't remember the number of!) and a bit of Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara that isn't available in the UK unfortunately.

Last up a little bit of Revlon Lip Butter action in the colour Juicy Papaya.  Now I know a lot of people don't like these but I have a lot of love for them, they're so conditioning and so cheap I don't mind applying them regularly, the colours are great too.

Not a lot else to report.  I have made a few little purchases on ASOS that I will be sharing with you this week at some point though and a full review of some of the drugstore items I bought last week will be coming soon.

Hope you've all had a fantastic weekend :)
