A Speedy Little Concealer Review

I'm just about to go out and it's a very rare occasion that I'm waiting for the other half to get ready (ok, shower - it's not as though he sits there doing his hair and make up for an hour - because that would be extremely odd not to mention worrying!) so I thought I'd write up a quick little review I've been meaning to do for a while.

My Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer is getting very low and even though I adore this concealer I'd read quite a few good reviews about the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer and wanted to give it a go.

First impressions, I hate the packaging.  I'm a simplistic, neat, fuss-free kinda gal and this kind of cartoony packaging does nothing for me at all. It looks messy and I hate that.  What can I say? I'm a Virgo and this kind of thing annoys me! (and I know that's not normal but at age 34 I've begun to accept it!)

What I do love about this little concealer-come-powder is that fact that it fits in 3 little products into one and it's very nifty!

Now let's get down to the nitty-gritty.  What is it like?

The pinky coloured concealer is supposed to go under your eyes to counteract any bluishness.  I apply this with my finger then even it out with a Beauty Blender sponge.  On application it looks great and really brightens the area.  But. And there is a big but...on me, after a couple of hours flawless turns into creases and what was under my eye can only be described as a big old mess!  I tried powdering this to combat it however it only made it look worse.  So on this account, Kick Ass didn't really kick much at all!!

The yellowy coloured concealer is for cover spots.  This is a lot creamier than I thought it would be, I tend to prefer something slightly drier to cover spots because it tends to set and stay better.  However it did do a good job of covering up the odd blemish.  I used the setting powder in the set to set the blemishes is with and yes it worked, however I was disappointed with how light it was.  You really only need a tiny dab or things look a little weird.

Now all in all this isn't a bad little set despite what I've said.  I think for those people with younger skin (ie. less wrinkles under the eyes) this would be a great little concealer set and a good addition to throw into your make up bag to carry around during the day (which is exactly what I've done with this now- it's great for little touch ups) I am however going to stay loyal to my Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage and separate under eye concealer though.  I'm a creature of habit!

  1. This is a pretty good review! I love the honesty- too many times bloggers will just skip reviewing products they don't care for. This kind of thing is more helpful!

    1. Aww thanks Katie :) I try to be as honest as possible because these are the reviews I like to read myself :)

      Hope you're having a great week :)

      Lis xx

  2. I've heard some good stuff about this concealer, it's such a shame about the creasing though! x

    1. I know :( however, this could just be happening to me. I'd recommend trying it out. I still use the concealer part and pop it in my make up bag for touching up any pesky spots throughout the day :) xx
