Life Lately #1

Yes, I have jumped on the "Life Lately" band wagon.  I love reading these type of posts so much (mainly because I'm a bit nosy by nature!).  A bit of a hotch-potch of everything seems to appeal to a lot of you, so by popular demand I'm going to do one of these posts every week as well as the usual make up and shopping ramblings.  Now I did try to think of an original name for this post, but I failed miserably. "Rilatt's Ramblings' was the best I could come up with and this just is just a bit of a mouthful really isn't it?! So "Life Lately" it is until I can come up with something better!

Anyway, let's get on with things shall we? (maybe I should have called it Rilatt's Ramblings after all!!) We're going left to right, left to right - you following me? good.

1.  Doggie Walks - Beautiful weather this week has meant little Clicquot (just seen in shot!) has been having lots of walks in the park and has been making the most out of the weather too.  Although she is getting rather hot bless her, she can't have a proper hair cut until she reaches 6 months apparently and we're only up to 5 months so far.   I wore my Zara dress (more on that in this post HERE)

2. Little Splurge in Boots - I had to pick up some nail varnish remover and needed some moisturiser to use whilst I decide which high end anti-wrinkle cream I'm going to buy next to put on my face before bed (any good recommendations are welcome by the way! I'm 34 and my face has just started to get some fine lines and I'm NOT loving this!!)  I bought my usual Boots own nail varnish remover, the new Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (I've heard good things about this), the Garnier Miracle Eye Cream (mixed reviews on this - I want to decide for myself) and for my "stand in" moisturiser I wanted to try the Avene Skin Recovery Cream - heard that this is pretty good too and wanted to try.

3. Barbecue - boy, have we been barbecuing lately! When you live in the UK you make the most of any bit of good weather you get (because it can disappear so quickly!) so when it's sunny...we're eating outside! On Saturday we had a nice little selection along with some salads. Tonight we are having home made Nandos using the barbecue. Yummy!

4. New Mango Dress - whilst Boots splurging, I also did had a quick little look around Zara and Mango. Zara had some lovely bits, but not in my size *sulk* but I did find this lovely little navy floaty dress in Mango with over 50% off.  It does nothing for me in the chest department (ie. flattens what little I have!) however I love it and I don't own many navy things.  I imagine it would look really nice with one of my white blazers and a tan :). You can get it HERE.

5. Breakfast - I'm a huge fan of boiled eggs and soldiers and I'm not ashamed to admit it! It reminds me of when I was little and it's such a quick and satisfying breakfast :)

6. Essie Topless & Barefoot - ahhhhh! it finally arrived all the way from the US of A.  I ordered this on eBay about a month and patiently waited for it to come.  I had it on my 'want' list for a while when I first saw it on Lily Pebbles blog. I'm not disappointed, its a great nail varnish and I absolutely adore the colour.  I never want to take it off my nails and I can see this being a firm favourite of mine.  Highly recommended.

7. Peanut and Raisin Blondies - I made these today and jeez, they are good!! Calorific yes, but they taste heavenly.  I'm really getting into baking at the moment, not sure how long that will last! They're from a cookbook my parents kindly bought me a few weeks ago from Matt Tebbutt.

8. Designer Outlet Village Shopping - I headed down to our local McCarthur Glen this weekend.  Now this shouldn't really be called a shopping village, because to be honest with you, most of the shops are a pile of crap and not worthy of "designer" shopping village status.  I went for one purpose only. Calvin Klein underwear.  My underwear of choice, mainly because it fits well and it's good quality.  I wanted some plain ones to go under my Alexander Wang vests that tend to show a lot of bra so I went for the classic branded CK bras - I'm not sure if this is going to make me look a bit ghetto and street (I lost the ability to pull off that look a long time ago!) but let's see. :) ooh, I also picked up some Yankee Candles - to make up for the sincere lack of Bath and Body Works in the UK! :(

So there we are, not a particularly eventful week however a very enjoyable one.   I've actually really enjoyed writing this post though so there will definitely be more to come.  At least I've got something to do with my odd collection of iPhone pics at the end of the week! ha!

Hope you've had a lovely weekend too, see you all in the week! :)

    1. I'm not gonna lie Alice, it was pretty awesome! You should definitely do one! Last year our garden wasn't complete so we bought some of those disposable ones and they did a great job :)
