Uh-oh Another Eyeshadow Palette....OOTD & FOTD

To start things off, I totally blame Laura from Buy Now Blog Later for these latest purchases! I absolutely did not need them (I really didn't - I own enough eyeshadow to probably use it for the rest of my life and still have some to leave in my will to any children I may have in the future!!)  however when I read about them on her blog I immediately had to have them, it's like being drawn into a cult or something,  a make up cult!! ha!

In my defence though, because this line is actually discontinued in the UK Bobbi Brown (Nectar and Nude Collection) I managed to get these little beauties for a bargain price on eBay (both brand new) so I did feel a little bit smug that I saved myself around £30 :) #winner

I absolutely agree with Laura, the lip gloss is divine.  I love the consistency of Bobbi Brown lip glosses, they're nice and thick and long lasting and create a wonderfully glossy lip. They're not for those who dislike a sticky gloss, however I'm not bothered about this too much.  The colour is very neutral and like Laura said, very pretty, especially with a bit of a tan. It's called Nude Pink and this is still available as part of their main collection now. Which is rather good really!

The eyeshadows too are a nice little bunch, very 'useful'.  Similar to my favourite Dior palette, you can create many a different look with this one.  Something very natural and something quite dramatic too.  The only slight issue I have is with the middle two colours (the metallic sparkly ones). They're beautiful in terms of the colour, however they're nowhere near as pigmented as the others in the palette and need a little more effort when working with them.  I still think they're great though.

And here is a rather self indulgent picture of myself sporting said palette and lipgloss... #pout

Whilst we're talking make up, let's talk about what else I have on my face in this picture....now you're probably thinking to yourself, well that's quite a natural look and probably not much make up.  You couldn't be more wrong!

Prepare yourself.....

Oh yes, weekends = me taking my time and applying a lot of crap onto my face, just because! ha!

Used to apply L-R

  • Laura Mercier blush brush
  • Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt
  • Sigma F80 (love)
  • Real Techniques Powder Brush
  • Laura Young Fan brush
  • Laura Mercier double ended Smudge / Crease Brush
  • Laura Young LY37
  • MAC 224
  • Laura Young small eye brush (number worn off - but its a great brush!)
  • MAC 217's
On the Face

  • Mix of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and Chanel Perfection Lumiere
  • Giorgio Armani corrector in no2 (under eyes)
  • Maybelline Eraser Eye to highlight under eyes
  • Hourglass Powder in Diffused light (meh)
  • Tom Ford Bronzer in Gold Dust (everywhere)
  • Kevyn Aucoin Contour in medium
  • Dior Amber Diamonds to highlight
  • Nars eye primer
  • Mix of the Bobbi Brown Nectar palette on my eyes (using black as the liner on the top lashes)
  • Laura Mercier Mascara (with the biggest brush I've ever seen in my life!!!)
  • Clinique bottom lash mascara
  • MAC Omega on the brows set with Maybelline clear mascara
  • Bobbi Brown Nude Pink Gloss on the lips

So rather a lot really wouldn't you agree?!

Why not throw a little OOTD for good measure hey? It was lovely and warm today so I opted for something very loose and cool, and a little out of my comfort zone being so bright! However I love this dress, I've worn it with heels on a night out before but I also think it works just as well with flats for the day time.  It's from Zara but I got it in the sale last year.

I also did some shopping today, just some beauty bits whilst I went to get my shoes re-heeled.  More about that tomorrow though!

Hope you are having a fantastic weekend! :)
