Life Lately #4

The fact that there are freshly cleaned make up brushes featured on this post should give you some idea of how slow paced my week / weekend has been, and do you know what? It's been lovely! :)

1. Jo Malone - Sadly this week I finished my Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede :( I can really recommend this scent. It's floral but musky yet fresh at the same time.  A lot of people rave about it and rightly so.  Laura has a great review of it over on her blog (HERE) and describes it pretty much down to a T!

2. Boots Mini Haul - I popped into Boots on Saturday for some cotton wool pads (exciting!) I defy anyone to go to Boots without buying something they totally didn't go in there to get! I've been wanting to get a bit more volume into my long, boring hair and have seen a few beauty bloggers using a large brush to blow dry the hair properly like they do in a salon. Now if any of you know of any good youtube tutorials on how to blow dry your hair (I failed miserably this morning!) please please please let me know!!
The Ultimate Blends conditioner is AMAZING, better than my Phillip Kingsley Elastizer - and it cost just £2.49!!! After using it my hair feels really nourished and soft!

3. Make up Favourites - Totally revived the Chanel Tan de Soleil this week and I'm really enjoying it again, it creates a lovely natural looking tan to the face and a dewy finish.  Along with this I've also been using my YSL Baby Doll Mascara a lot this week and of course the Dior Sundeck palette is still my number one Summer go-to.  If you haven't picked this up yet I urge you to do so!  I featured a review of the new Clinique Matte Lipstick this week on my blog also if you fancy a read - it looks great paired with this eye palette and bronzer :)

4. Starbucks - Iced coffee has been my drink of choice at Starbucks over the last few weeks.  In particular I can highly recommend an Iced Skinny Vanilla Latte - simple but yummy! I've been drinking far too many of these lately!

5. Film - Okay, so I loved the 'Sopranos' and I love the film Goodfellas.  I like a bit of Mafia drama.  So with my new Netflix account and with the other half sat next to me I decided to watch 'Donnie Brasco'...but.....I tried so hard to follow this film and it just didn't happen.  I couldn't understand what the hell was going on!! He enjoyed it though :)

6. Sloppy Joe's - made by my very own Sloppy Joe! :) This was such a simple meal and very much on the naughty side however it tasted absolutely divine! The 'burger' filling was made from lean minced meat, onions, finely chopped celery, tinned tomatoes, ketchup mustard and a lot of seasoning! Followed up with Ben n Jerry's ice-cream. Needless to say we were well and truly stuffed!

7. Brush Cleaning - I ordered some of the Cinema Secrets brush cleaner, recommended by Anna from Vivianna Loves Makeup.  I had to get this sent all the way from the USA, but it was definitely worth it.  It's so much more effective than the MAC one I've been using.   If you live in the USA and can get your hands on this easily I'd recommend trying it.  My brushes look awesome now (yes, I'm sad like that!)

8. Lunch - I had no plans for Sunday and because the sun was shining we decided to go and grab some lunch at Jamie's Italian.  I always forget about this place and forget how great the food actually is here! I had a crab and avocado bruschetta to start, followed by a starter sized Rabbit Ragu Pasta and then the Chocolate Brownie with Salted Caramel Ice cream.  I'm now in a food induced coma whilst I write this!  Perfect end to a lovely weekend.

Hope you've all had an enjoyable weekend too, catch up tomorrow with a FOTD that I forgot to post yesterday!
