Life Lately #5

You know the drill guys...a little bit of everything from this week....so here we go :)

1.  Great Food - this week has seen some pretty awesome food shenanigans, homemade by yours truly mostly (and the Fiancé, best not leave him out - he gets very upset when he reads this otherwise!) On Monday  I made Green Tea Salmon with Coconut rice and green veggies. Later on in the week we had a very nice Leek Risotto (made with cream cheese!) and last night I had possibly one of the best chillis I've ever tasted made with black beans, home made tortilla chips and a mint soured cream. Everything I've made recently is from Matt Tebbutt's Guilty Pleasures - I can highly recommend this book!! You can get it HERE.

2. Haulin' - of massive proportions this weekend! and that pic isn't even the half of it! I went to Zara on Saturday, tried on a lot....then bought a lot.  Pretty standard procedure these days in Zara to be honest! Today was also a great day for sale shopping - I picked up some more great bargains from Whistles and Office, we are talking serious reductions for some great little items.  There may have been a little Topshop thrown in there for good measure too! I'm probably going to do a more detailed post on what I bought in the week hopefully. :)

3. Coconut Water - with or without pineapple. It is vile...and that is all! My first experience of it this weekend and most definitely my last. Bleughhhhh! Although having said that, it did seem to sort out my hangover on Saturday! I still hate it though, passionately!!!

4. Ole Henriksen - I've heard a lot about this line of products but have never actually tried any, even though a lot of them have made their way onto my beauty wish list over the past few months.  So when I saw this in Debenhams on the weekend at such a great price with some pretty good sized products in it, it was a no brainer! I used all the products last night and this morning and first impressions are very good.  I'll review them properly once I've properly road tested these babies! The set is called the Seven Skincare Sensations and you can get it HERE.

5. Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet - at last! I finally got around to buying one of these little gems! and boy are they good.  I can see why they've been so dearly loved by so many bloggers out there now.  I opted for 'Ole Flamingo' this time and will be definitely picking up some more.  They just last and last and last and hardly feel drying at all. They even survived eating the chilli with ease!

6. More Body Shop - So the revival continues! I'd seen Amelia do a post on the raspberry body scrub and went in to have a little smell over the weekend. If you haven't tried this, you need to.  Smells sensational and leaves your skin ridiculously soft. Oh, I also bought the body butter, obviously!

7. New Shirt - so I couldn't wait to wear one of the new purchases and here I am today wearing the Topshop Casual Chambray Shirt (Link).  I'd been after a shirt like this for a while and since Zara have not come up trumps with a casual white shirt I had to look further afield.  I paired this with denim cut offs and my Mulberry satchel today for a dressed down Sunday sorta vibe :) very comfortable and great in this warm weather.

10. Feel Good Music - this week I have been mostly playing Oliver Heldens / Becky Hill - Gecko (Overdrive) VERY LOUD! :) such a feel good track, every time I listen to it, it makes me want to go out!

So here's to a great week everyone!

  1. Hi Lis! oh god I can't wait to try those Bourjois rouge velvet, that one looks amazing! :)
hope you have a great week

    1. Hey! you definitely need to try them, they are insanely gorgeous! You're of similar colouring to me so this one would probably really suit you too! :)

      Lis xx

  2. Can't wait to see the haul Lis!!!
    Have a lovely week!

  3. Ha so happy you finally got the Rouge Velvet and that you love it as well. I knew you would there is just nothing not to love with them. Also cant wait to see more from the clothing haul!

Regarding Coconut water. I had similar emotions at first try and I think that the spesific brand you tried tastes like floor washing water. HOWEVER if you are still willing and notice either Pearl Royal or Jax Coco I think they are both delicious and very different from the one you tried! x

    1. I really want to get the peachy one now. they're insanely gorgeous! Clothing haul will be coming soon (as soon as I can find someone to take pictures of me - hubby is away! lol)

Right, I am going to try Coconut Water again - I'll see if I can get my hands on either of those two brands! :)

      Lis xx

would you like to follow each other?
will be happy to see you in my blog)

    1. Hi Diana

Firstly, thank you so much! :) as a new blogger I'm always really worried that my blog doesn't' look that great, I try to be as honest as possible though :)

I will definitely check out your blog!

      Lis xx

  5. Coconut water and Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet are among my faves too. I wrote a full review on the "Ole Flamingo" shade if you fancy reading it: http://www.glamoclock.com/2014/07/Swatch-Review-Bourjois-Rouge-Edition-Velvet-05-Ole-Flamingo.html
