FOTD - Some Oldies and Some Newbies :)

I had a fairly quiet weekend and consequently, had the time to rummage through my mountain of make up and here are the results :) Some very well-loved favourites, some things I'm trying to use up and a couple of newbies thrown in too (hence the reason why most items in the picture below look a little bit worse for wear - they've been thrown around in the make up bag on many occasion! sorry!)

Face -  I'm trying to use up my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.  I never really fell in love with this stuff despite the fact that most people seem to adore this foundation.  Sometimes it looks okay, sometimes it looks hideous on me.  Today was a good day.  Now don't get me wrong, I don't dislike this foundation mainly because one of the benefits is it does photograph very (I imagine it would be good for bridal make up because it's also quite long wearing)  It's just I was expecting MORE when I bought this and well, it never really happened. Anyways, moving on, next up I used a little L'oreal Lumi Touch (not photographed, I forgot, sorry!) This is a great under eye concealer, it's light and very good at lightening up the area and bringing a bit of life to the face. To hide any little blemishes I used my trusty Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. I love this stuff. Dearly! I set all of this with a bit  of Hourglass Diffused Light Powder and a big fluffy brush.

Cheeks - For bronzer I swirled (a lot!) of the L'Oreal Glam Bronze on my face, followed by some Dior Amber Diamond on my cheek bones and nose and to complete the face some of my favourite Nars Deep Throat Blush, this is still one of my firm faves, especially for Summer :)

Eyes - I used some Clinique Chubby Stick in 'Lots o Latte' (the name of which makes me want coffee now!) all over the lid and on the lower lash line and then a little MAC 'Texture' in the crease and some Nars 'Mekong' on the upper lash line, with a bit of MAC 'Teddy' in the water line.  Followed by L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (which incidentally I didn't like too much at first but it's growing on me now!) I may do a full review of this soon.  Bottom lashes, a product I could NOT live without, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. This stuff has changed my life!  For my brows I chucked a bit of MAC Omega through them - I always seem to come back to this no matter what brow product I use.

Lips - Something a little bit different for me here. I used the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk all over the lip followed by a smidgen of Tom Ford Spanish Pink

This make up look made my eyes look a really pale blue which I kinda liked - I always find it amazing how different eyeshadows can make people's eyes a totally different colour!

What are your old favourites?

So that's it, I'll be back tomorrow with a weekend OOTD for you.

Hope you all had a great start to your week!

  1. You look lovely Lis! I love your hair!
MAC Bronze is an old favorite of mine as well as MAC Stereo Rose. L'Oréal Amber Rush eyeshadow never leaves my makeup bag during the summer months. All of these have been on heavy rotation lately!
Happy Tuesday! I'm dying here... it's ridiculously hot and humid in Dubai. Can't wait to visit my family soon! :-)

    1. Thanks Anne :) I'm dying to get MAC Stereo Rose, have heard such good things about it!

Wish it was warm here, its freeezing! Summer has definitely gone :( xx

  2. You look beautiful, I'm envious!
I love chubby sticks, I have a pink one (can't remember at all what the shade is called) that I've used to death!
    Stunningly Inept
