Life Lately #8

I'm feeling a little worse for wear today (all alcohol related so I deserve no sympathy!) so apologies in advance for any waffling!

1. Sandwich On A Stick -  the week started with a lovely lunch outside with one of my work colleagues (and friend!) Emma.   The office has been like a sweat box in this warm weather so it was really nice to get out of the office and sit in the sun for a bit.  The sandwich when it arrived was oddly stacked on a skewer and I was also naughty and had chips with it! It did make Monday a lot more bearable though!

2. Making Salads - I have literally been trying to make every single salad recipe I can find in all my cookbooks at the moment! When its warm I'm less inclined to slave over a hot oven and much prefer throwing great ingredients together to make something tasty.  This week I made an unusual Orange, Beetroot and Feta salad that sounds a bit odd but tasted really good.  If anyone has any good salad recipes send them my way please!

3. Guest Post - A few weeks ago I mentioned my blogger friend Stacey who has recently discovered she has cervical cancer.  Gemma from Miss Makeup Magpie kindly offered to arrange for a few bloggers to guest post for her blog whilst she recovers from her surgery and I was more than happy to help :) there are some great guest posts on there not to mention a whole load of other lovely posts from Stacey herself, go check out her blog HERE

4. Tom Ford - Swoon! I've been lusting after this nail varnish (Sugar Dune) for quite some time, and randomly came across a great deal on eBay last week so bit the bullet and purchased it. So glad I did, it's a gorgeous shade (not dissimilar to Essie Topless and Barefoot to be honest however you can never have too many nude nail varnishes, right?!) It went perfectly with the dress I wore out on Saturday night.

5. Healthy Pancakes - these were a Saturday morning treat to myself, there were also super healthy! I made them with Cottage Cheese, Eggs, Oats and an overripe banana with a bit of cinnamon. Soooo yummy!

6. Girls Night Out - Firstly let's talk about my bargain Victoria Beckham rip off dress that I got on eBay for £12....yes, £12!!! and it's not at all different from the one from her collection which I'm betting costs nearly 100 times more than that.  I love the elegant shape of this dress and the simplicity.  I am only going to be wearing this on my 'feeling thin' days, that's for sure!  We had a great night out, that girl never fails to make me smile :)

7. Return of Made In Chelsea -  New York.  Now, I'm hoping that this is going to be better than the last series of the normal Made In Chelsea because to be honest, that was rather lack-lustre and definitely not as good as previous series (please bring back Millie and the original crew!) I'm hoping to get some good ideas for places to go when I visit New York in October too!

8. More Barry M - I love these nail varnishes and this week was a particularly good one on the nail front.  I've been doing a nail conditioning treatment on my nails for the past few weeks so have had no colour on my nails for nearly 4 weeks! Sunday was the end of the treatment and me and the nail varnishes have been reunited (hence the heavily nail orientated post this week!) I chose Coconut Grove from Barry M to get me back into the swing of things and I adore it, it's a sort of off white that looks good with everything. Love.

See you all in the week!
