New In: Foundation Brush

Last month, my long time faithful Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki foundation brush finally bit the dust, :( the brush started to shed and for a good few months applying foundation with it had been a struggle to be honest, things were getting a bit streaky!

Time to invest in a new brush, an exciting proposition for a make up addict like myself!

The easy option would have been to go for a replacement Sigma F80, however, I'm all for trying new things and a few months ago whilst perusing the The Sunday Times 'Style' supplement at my parents house I saw an advert for a new foundation brush that promised to be a little different.  Of course, I was intrigued! Meet the RMS Beauty Skin2Skin Foundation brush

So the first thing that I was slightly concerned about when it arrived (I ordered mine from Urban Retreat) was just how teeny-tiny it was! The brush head is probably only half the size of the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to give you some idea of how small we are talking!  This was a worry for me initially.

The brush itself uses varying length bristles that are tightly layered in a swirling pattern on the brush and are supposed to make foundation application an absolute dream because the fibres are designed to be able to reach every curve of the face mimicking applying foundation with your fingers.

And I'm pleased to say that after taking a little bit of getting used to it is really good! Sure, it takes perhaps a little bit longer to apply my foundation (we're talking perhaps 30 seconds maximum here though!) but the finish is definitely a lot more even and I find that the small brush allows me to be more 'precise' in certain areas and I actually really like that.  I didn't think I would.

So, to conclude, if you're in the market for a new foundation brush and you fancy something a little bit different, this could be a good option for you!

On a side note, I'm after a new bronzer brush so if you have any recommendations for me pop them in the comments!

Wishing you all a great start to your week!
