Sophie Hulme Gibson Bucket Bag

So let's start with the fact that this post is a bit show-offy in the whole 'look at me I have a new bag' kind of way. But, this is a blog that centres itself around shopping so let's just get over that and move on shall we?!

Since the Summer I'd seen various bloggers (namely Laura and Laura!) sporting the Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag and really admired the shape of said bag.

It's something a little bit different to the other handbags in my collection and hence the reason I convinced myself over the next few months that I definitely needed something similar.  I mean my life wouldn't be complete without it right?! (It's amazing how many valid reasons a woman can make to justify a purchase!)

If you follow me on Snapchat you will have seen a little sneak peak of this recent purchase and the story behind how I managed to get it at a knock-down price (i.e. Not the £650 it's retailing at on most websites currently!) The Sophie Hulme Gibson Bucket bag is still available on Monnier Freres where I got it from, however I've noticed that it's now gone back up in price :(

Keep an eye out though because Sophie Hulme bags quite often go into the sales on various websites and quite a few places stock them.  Be an internet hawk ladies and I promise you will reap the rewards! :) (and drive your significant other crazy because you spend 24/7 glued to your laptop / iPhone!)

So here it is in action....

The photographs are actually making the bag look a bit lighter and more 'red' than it actually is.  I should also mention that they do this bag in a multitude of colours but I chose the deep red because it's a colour that I think looks great with monochrome (ie. 90% of my wardrobe!!!)

This is also surprisingly roomy for what appears to be a medium sized bag.  I can fit all the essentials in - phone, purse, hairbrush, large makeup bag, kitchen sink...

The 'Gibson' is comfortable to carry around too, even when full of crap! I'm wearing the shoulder strap on it's 'short' setting in the photographs but it can also be worn with the shoulder strap longer so it sits at the top of your thigh or can be worn cross-body.

And while we're here let's do an OOTD 'avec' my new bag shall we?!  Let's also pretend that I'm not as pale as I am in these pictures.  I need to crack open the James Read Self Tan Mousse soon!!
