Dubai Outfits

So I managed to persuade my Fiancé to take a few photos of me in Dubai for my blog.   It wasn't something he particularly enjoyed (that and the constant "you can't eat the food until I've photographed it" moments!) however I am very grateful and thought I'd give him a special mention to say thank you! :)

Side note - if you google 'Instagram Husband' and watch the video....THAT is HIM! ha!

Dubai dressing is a much talked about topic.  Friends and acquaintances who know that I spend a lot of time out there often ask what they should take to wear, bearing in mind that dressing a certain way in some parts is frowned upon and can cause unwanted attention.

There are lots of places where the dress code is pretty much as it is in the UK (the beach, nightclubs, some restaurants, bars in hotels etc), however I always like to remain fairly conservative when I'm out there,  just to be respectful.  So that means keeping shoulders and legs covered up, particularly in places like the shopping malls.  At the time of year I went it's also fairly chilly in the evenings so you need a jacket to keep you warm!

Having said that though my first outfit contradicts that completely! And thats because I was near the beach where things are a little more 'relaxed'!

I bought this top some time ago from River Island when I spotted Laura (Buynow / Bloglater) with it.  I love the cut around the neck and shoulders and the shade of grey (yes, I love the colour grey so much I can actually appreciate different shades!!)

Sunglasses - Linda Farrow for The Row
Top - River Island
Shorts - Zara
Flip Flops - Valentino
Bag - Smythson

Jeez, could I look any more 'smug bitch' in this picture?! Sorry about that.  I have a nasty tendency to either look snobby or miserable in photos, mainly due to the fact that I'm not a huge fan of my teeth!

Sunglasses - Chloe
Shirt - Topshop
Jeans - Zara
Shoes - Christian Louboutin
Bag - Chanel

Ok, so hotel room lighting isn't the best, but needs must and all that! Probably a good thing really since I was incredibly tired that evening and the shadows are hiding a multitude of sins on my face!!!

Blazer - Zara
T-shirt - Zara
Jeans - J Brand
Shoes - Christian Louboutin Pigalle 100's
Bag - Sophie Hulme

Another photo with some 'interesting' lighting and a pensive look!  This was just after dinner in JBR (not far from Sephora and I'd just bought Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita and slapped it on my chops before having this photo taken!!)

Blouse - Zara
Jeans - J Brand
Shoes - Valentino
Bag - Chanel

And finally one of my many t-shirt and jeans combos (I spared you the rest - but I did take all of those Zara T-shirts from my previous blogpost with me!)

Sunglasses - Celine
T-shirt - Zara
Jeans - J Brand
Shoes - Valentino
Bag - Sophie Hulme

I have actually purchased a new camera since arriving back from Dubai and I'm still getting to grips with it at the moment so expect better quality photos coming your way soon!

In other news, I made a little ASOS purchase today which I'll share with you soon, as well as some impressive beauty and non-beauty products I'm loving at the moment.  Struggling to take photos after work currently because it's so dark by the time I get home :(

Anyway, hope you're having a good week so far, mine has been busy busy busy!
