Nars 'Impassioned' Blush

If you scroll back a few posts to my Spring Wishlist post you'll spot this Nars Blush.  Well, it didn't take me long to bag one!

And here's the reason why...

'Limited Edition' always plants a seed of panic in the back of my mind, you know, the niggling little voice that says 'might sell out, might sell out - get it before it's gone forever!' and won't be laid to rest until you've purchased! I'm pretty sure that this is the desired effect and boy does it work on me!

So...on a recent trip into Cardiff and money to burn (oh hello pay day!) I promptly purchased the Nars Limited Edition Blush from the Nars 'Nouvelle Vogue' collection in 'Impassioned'.  (and it's been sitting on my dressing table for 2 weeks since waiting to be photographed - sacrilege!)

First impressions, well nothing new here really packaging-wise.  Just the same old Nars casing that gets dirty after just one use and no longer looks pristine.  But hey ho, I'm not really bothered about that to be honest!

Let's talk blush....

It actually appears slightly paler in the pan than it does on the skin.  'Impassioned' is matte, highly pigmented and looks oh so pretty on.  A true 'Spring' blush, light mauve in colour but looks slightly warmer on the skin.  It reminds me of MAC 'Well Dressed' but without the shimmer and a bit more pigmented.  I love it.

In fact, it actually also reminds me a little of the much loved and discontinued Nars 'Douceur' but a more 'grown up' version!  I was a little worried that it was going to appear 'chalky' on the skin, but this wasn't the case at all, just a gorgeous flush that wore well throughout the day.

The perfect blush to take you into Spring, extremely pretty but natural and looks gorgeous with a pink lip (I shopped my stash and paired it with MAC Bombshell and a slick of By Terry Baume De Rose Lip Gloss)

It's linked below for all of you wanting to rush to get it (go on, treat yo'self! haha!)

What's your favourite blush at the moment? And do you have any Spring make up recommendations for me? :)
