Back to Basics with Farfetch

I couldn't live without my wardrobe basics! You know, the type of items that never 'date' and you can just mix and match and throw on without even thinking if they will go together! If you follow my Instagram you'll regularly see me rocking a lot of these sort of items (it's amazing how many things a black blazer will go with!)

Perfect for busy people and also those who just want to create a 'classic', 'chic' and 'put together' look in a matter of seconds! It's a look that works for all ages too.  Everyone's a winner!

So, I thought it might be useful to piece together a collection of 'wardrobe must-haves' all of which you can purchase from Farfetch.  Have a good old browse on their website though, because if some of these items aren't quite to your budget they will more than likely also stock something more in your price range too :) Putting this little collection together was more like creating my ultimate wardrobe basics wishlist!

Farfetch is a global community of over 400 fashion boutiques - so we're talking a lot of different brands and choice.  When items have been sold out on other websites I've quite often been able to find them on Farfetch.

A quick run through of some of the items I think you should own if you don't already! (how many can you tick off?!)

  • Leather Jacket - one of those items you can dress up or down and adds a bit of 'edginess' to an otherwise quite 'conservative' look.  This one is the Belstaff Classic Biker Jacket

  • Tortoiseshell Sunglasses - A classic, they go with most outfits and scream 'classy chick' oh and the bigger the better! I love these Celine Eyewear 'Audrey's'

  • Hat - So you probably wouldn't wear this in the Summer but in the Autumn and Winter a hat is such a useful thing to own.  It hides a bad hair day, keeps you dry in light rain and makes an otherwise boring outfit something a little more 'special'! The Rag & Bone Wide Brim Fedora is my favourite.

  • Nude Heels - If you buy one pair of shoes you need a nude pair of heels. Trust me. They elongate your legs, look fabulous paired with any colour and can be worn with dresses and jeans alike. These are the Jimmy Choo Romy Pumps

  • Black Jeans - Dress up with heels, dress down with flats / trainers, slimming....need I go on? I'm on a Frame Denim obsession at the moment and these ones are no exception! Frame Denim Skinny Jeans

  • Blue Denim Skinny Jeans - I don't think this needs explaining, but a good pair that flatters your figure is essential.  Nobody likes a 'muffin top' and Frame Denim have you covered! Frame Denim Skinny Jeans

  • 'Barely There' Sandals - Never underestimate the power of simple! This style looks fantastic paired with jeans, trousers, skirts and dresses.  Saint Laurent 'Jane' Sandals

  • Classic Style Handbag - okay, so it doesn't have to be Chanel but we all need something to aim for! It's worth me mentioning that Farfetch have Vintage Chanel handbags on their site! I think this style of bag looks equally as good dressed up or dressed down. Start saving ladies! Chanel Vintage Medium Double Flap Bag

  • Pencil Skirt - such a great staple item, it can be worn on evenings out, to work, with flats for a more dressed down look. This one is from the Queen of Pencil Skirts herself - Victoria Beckham! Victoria Beckham Midi Pencil Skirt

  • Comfy Flats - for when trainers are too casual but you don't want to wear heels.  I probably own more flats in my wardrobe than I do anything else if I'm honest.  I love this pair and they're next on my purchase list! - Nicholas Kirkwood 'Beya' Loafers

  • Black Blazer - I could not live without my collection of black blazers (that's right people, I have more than one!) they go with almost anything and add a bit of smartness to an otherwise scruffy outfit.  One of my favourite ways to wear mine is with a t-shirt and jeans and either trainers or flats. Stella McCartney Classic Blazer

  • Neutral Bag - in addition to a black bag, you also need a neutral coloured bag! Some something in a beige or tan is perfect.  I have my eye on this one -  Alexander Wang Rockie Tote.
